Vogue magazine has promised to ban models from its pages that are considered too thin or those who are under 16 years. A total of 19 publishers supported the initiative, including Alexandra Shulman, who is in charge of the British version of the publication. Upon casting, those responsible for selecting the models will give the ages of the girls and to see whether they seem to have an eating disorder, all with the goal of passing a healthy image of girls in their editorials. The "Initiative for Health" is supported by the Council of Fashion Designers and the British Fashion Council.
This past week, the former supermodel and host Tyra Banks was on CNN to comment on the matter with Erin Burnett. Below is the interview subtitled in portuguese.
